Episode 213

Ed Gamble Sad Spider & Potty Mouth John Motson

Show broadcast on 31 March 2018

Of course normal service will resume soon, but we do love a guest host. Friend of the show and all round legend Ed Gamble took up the mantle this week and hammer-smashed it out of the vibe park. The best bit is, even in John's absence, there was no shortage of shame. Plus, it's always a laugh to hear Elis having a nightmare with muscle-memory.

Podcast intro

John Robins is like a sad spider on his web of emotion and jokes are the flies.

John's introduction of Elis

"(Elis' intro of Ed Gamble) What links the following people: Halle Berry, Christopher Biggins, Tom Hanks, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Tarbuck, Theresa May, Steve Redgrave, Gary Mabbutt? That's right, they're all famous diabetics but none are as famous as Mr Ed Gamble. "

Conversations and riffs

Elis and Ed discuss famous diabetics and how to apply insulin (do you put it in your hair or spritz in the air and walk through the cloud?)

Elis James' Light-Hearted Paper Review

Elis' selection of humorous stories from this week's newspapers.

John's Shame Well

John frees another listener of their shame.

Listeners suggest made-up games that Elis and John can play.

Destination or Fabrication: Take it in turns to list unusual place names in the UK and guess whether they are genuine or made-up.
