Episode 254

Bran Mulch, Freebie Skiibie & I Suppose I Went To Rymans

Show broadcast on 19 January 2019

Following some big news from Elis, a super-sub wonder kid was required to step in. Enter: Tim Key. Who knows, some of you might even recognise his voice from LONG ago?? It was a brilliant show as Robins threw open the Weirdness Amnesty once again and Tim went to Rymans. As well as all this, there was a welcome return for a Classic Made Up Game, a sporadic Potato Potato, an unconscious Shame Well and an impromptu Birthday Game!

Podcast intro

More bum wiping debate: how about hovering?

John's introduction of Elis

"(John's intro of Tim Key) To my left, resident poet at Holland & Barrett. Spearheading the health food shop's 'Rose Hips With Hip Prose' campaign, he is providing shoppers with one poem per purchase. A trial run at their Hounslow branch proved a roaring success and plans are afoot to roll it out across the south east. It's Mr Tim Key. "

Conversations and riffs

Due to the birth of Elis' second child, John is joined today by Tim Key, who immediately sets about challenging expectations regarding the format of the show.

John has to guess what Tim bought in Rymans stationery shop this week. What if John and Tim moved in together and adopted children?

Did you know that Tim Key is up for an award too?

A one-hour Weirdness Amnesty is held whereby listeners can contact the show with their weird habits, free of judgement. Tim suggests John's portable collection of condiments sachets might be one of those.

Elis James' Light-Hearted Paper Review

Elis' selection of humorous stories from this week's newspapers.

Tim Key's Light-Hearted Paper Review: porridge popularity and a really old cream egg.

John's Shame Well

John frees another listener of their shame.

Tales of waking up with an erection in a public setting.

Made-Up Games

Listeners suggest made-up games that Elis and John can play.

Life Is Like: Tim and John play this classic game again. Producer Jo reads out a bizarre 'Life is like...' e.g. 'Life is like a newly fitted kitchen...' and the players have to come up with the best statement to complete the made-up saying.

The 'Keep It Session' Sessions

A special section at the end of the podcast for music recommendations.
