Episode 128

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

Show broadcast on 30 July 2016

It's an exploration into relationships this week - why is John friends with Robin? How important is the power balance between Elis and John? Just how much does Elis love Dave's body? All this plus sweaty Vin. There's all the regulars too - Humble Brag Of The Week, Winner Plays On, Tick Off A Taste and Email Of The Species.

John's introduction of Elis

"To my left is the former landlord of The Choirmaster's Tavern in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. "

Conversations and riffs

Elis has receding gums and John's girlfriend called him "a basket of sharks". John has exceeded his capacity how many multiple things he can handle having to do. Elis finally sorted out a will but John isn't getting any of the James estate.

Once, Producer Vin accidentally let the show broadcast two-and-a-half minutes of silence then started sweating through his denim underwear when he realised (says John).

Elis and John coin the catchphrase 'Be normal' (although this is at odds with the teenage John's quirks).

Humblebrag

More examples of that scourge of social media, the humblebrag.

Sitting in a hotel in Cannes watching the cricket on TV (while writing your film script, by the way).

You're way too trusting and giving, when will you learn?

Famous author finds an elaborate way to write that her house is worth a lot.

Winner Plays On

Elis and John face off in the weekly quiz on topics of their choice.

Flags (John) v Euro 96 (Elis). Elis wins 5-3.

Tick Off a Taste

The gang try a new taste sensation sent in by a listener.

Bean-boozled jelly beans - each colour is either a nice flavour or a horrible flavour. You won't know until you pop it in your mouth.

The 'Keep It Session' Sessions

A special section at the end of the podcast for music recommendations.

The Pastels (Elis)
