Funathon, A Big Announcement & DVD

Show broadcast on 31 December 2016

Ever wanted to know if Josh Widdicombe wears socks in bed? Then this is the podcast to listen to. Widders is back in the studio, helping out Elis and John with their exciting dynamic pre-recorded New Years Eve funisode. Plus and exciting 2017 announcement! There's the final Humble Brag Of The Week of 2016, Email Of The Species, and a 2016 special of Winner Plays On too!

Podcast intro

John is dusting off his old standup show "for a thing". E & J riff on the current trend on social media for making vague, slightly humblebrag requests for help because "it's for a thing I'm doing".

John's introduction of Elis

"To my left is the man who was the last to abandon the doomed SS Pontypridd. Credited with ensuring the survival of all passengers and crew but unable to save any of the livestock on board. "

Conversations and riffs

It's New Year's Eve so the guys discuss their memories of previous New Year celebrations.

Friend of the show Josh Widdicombe is a guest to promote the launch of his latest standup show on DVD ("such a good format"). Listeners were asked to tweet questions for Josh in advance of the show but some of them got mixed up with Twitter questions for a Los Angeles YouTube celebrity also called Josh. Yet again John quizzes Josh on the chances of him making an appearance in the next series of sitcom 'Josh'.

Humblebrag

More examples of that scourge of social media, the humblebrag.

Why do they insist on giving you training when you hire a Mercedes? Sad to hear about the fire at the motorway services that is between your homes in London and the New Forest.

Winner Plays On

Elis and John face off in the weekly quiz on topics of their choice.

An end-of-year special edition with questions by Producer Dave. Elis wins 2-1.

The 'Keep It Session' Sessions

A special section at the end of the podcast for music recommendations.

Genesis (Elis) Can you believe cool Elis has chosen square prog-rock Genesis?
